The Project
Tepet approached Utah Contract Sewing to develop a new climbing gym equipment bag for its brand. The client needed both a refined product design and a high-quality physical sample that could be used for photography, marketing, and preparation for manufacturing.
The project required an efficient development process that could move quickly from the initial idea to a finished sample without overlooking the construction details needed for future production.
Our Approach
UCS worked with the client to design and develop the bag around its intended climbing-gym use. We refined the product’s form, organization, material selection, and construction while keeping the brand’s functional goals at the center of the process.
Our team sourced the necessary materials and developed the patterns and construction methods needed to produce the physical sample.
Prototyping and Sample-Making
UCS produced a high-quality sample that allowed the client to evaluate the finished design and use the product for photography and marketing.
The sample also provided a physical reference for communicating the product’s proportions, materials, features, and construction as the project moved toward manufacturing.
Technical Documentation
Alongside the finished sample, UCS created a production-ready tech pack documenting the information needed to manufacture the bag.
The technical package provided a clear reference for the product’s materials, dimensions, construction, and key design details, helping translate the approved sample into a format that could be communicated to a manufacturing partner.
The Result
The completed project gave Tepet both a polished physical sample and the technical documentation needed for its next stage.
The sample was ready for photography, marketing, product evaluation, and factory communication, while the tech pack established a clear foundation for future manufacturing.
