Our Story
Utah Contract Sewing was founded in 2015 after Evan Glassman moved to Utah and was unable to find a professional soft-goods design firm that could help develop his product.
Recognizing that other entrepreneurs and businesses faced the same challenge, Evan shifted his focus toward helping clients develop their own products. Since then, UCS has grown into a full-service soft-goods design, prototyping, and production studio supported by an experienced team and trusted industry relationships.
Today, our team brings together specialized experience in product design, patternmaking, sewing, prototyping, technical development, and production. Together, we help clients turn early-stage ideas into refined, manufacturable products.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help brands, entrepreneurs, and inventors turn soft-goods ideas into thoughtfully designed, manufacturable products, as well as provide the highest quality domestic soft goods production and manufacturing.
We approach every project with curiosity, care, honesty, and respect for the client’s vision. Through close collaboration and skilled product development, we create practical solutions that move projects confidently from concept to completion.
Evan Glassman
Founder
Evan has over 30 years of experience in multidisciplinary design and specialty fabrication, informed by his background in fine and applied arts. His clients and collaborators have included Meow Wolf, the Chicago Cubs, Rockwell Group, Hilton, Sarcos Robotics, Dell, Elkay, and many others.
Kastle Christensen
Lead Designer
A true Utah outdoorsman, Kastle is a highly creative, versatile, and empathetic designer with more than a decade of hands-on prototyping experience. He brings extensive knowledge of soft goods, hybrid products, and hard goods to every project, along with a humble, thoughtful, and collaborative approach.
Trevor Kelley
Project and Business Manager/Designer
Trevor is the UCS Swiss Army knife, supporting both clients and the business through a wide range of skills and responsibilities. His work spans product design, prototyping, project management, client communication, and business operations, helping projects move smoothly from early ideas through development.
Tobias Boynton
Designer
Toby is an apparel wunderkind whose background in architecture informs his thoughtful approach to construction, structure, and detail. He brings a strong understanding of apparel development and creative problem-solving to the UCS design team.
Alberto Hernandez
Production Lead
Alberto brings decades of sewing and soft goods manufacturing experience to the UCS team. His technical skill, knowledge of materials, and understanding of production processes help maintain an efficient workflow and consistently high-quality results. Alberto is truly a master sewist and craftsman.
Rafa Correa
Production Team Member
Rafa is a highly skilled artisan with a strong eye for detail and a commitment to exceptional craftsmanship. She consistently strives for perfection and helps ensure a high standard of quality across UCS production work.
