UCS was created in 2015 when founder, Evan Glassman, moved to Utah and couldn’t find a professional soft goods design firm that could help him with his project.

He pivoted from focusing on his product to helping other entrepreneurs and businesses with theirs. UCS has grown over the years to a multi-service soft goods design agency that leverages its contacts, experience, and talented designers to offer consistently excellent results for its clients.

The team today is talented, experienced, and diverse. We are multilingual and have knowledge and skills from international schools of design.

Glimpses of UCS

Frequently Asked Questions

What does UCS do?

We design, prototype, and manufacture soft goods.

We have an idea. Where to we start ?

There are three things you can ask yourself that will help you start. One, does your product solve a problem and what problem is it? Two, who is your target audience/demographic and how will you reach them? And three, what is your definition of success for your product? There are many other elements to a product based business from both the brand and marketing development to business operations. Having a business outline including a SWOT, budget, and more information about operations and scaling is also very important. Additionally, any crude prototype you can make, or drawings you prepare, will help tremendously, regardless of their quality. A design brief is also very helpful for us to get a full understanding of what you are working on. A SWOT analysis is always a good idea if you are starting out.

Can you assist in branding and marketing ?

Yes, we have a lot of skill sets and experience in the industry and are happy to give you input and feedback on your whole project. We have also helped clients with logo development, etc.

Can we meet with you right away to discuss our product?

Absolutely! Please call or email us and one of our designers will be happy to answer your questions and explain more about our process of creating soft goods. With more info we can certainly schedule an appointment to review your product needs. We are happy to meet with you for an initial 30 to 45 minute review at no cost. For product development, once you supply us with some basic information re. your project, we will review it and can then set up a meeting. Our initial meeting briefs are typically not meant to delve into all the exact details and specs re. your product/project, but to get an overview and prepare the best steps forward, along with an estimate for our services. Then a more comprehensive design meeting will be set up. If you have a project such as specialty production ready to go, we of course can meet immediately to get some specifics, and provide a quote.

How do we bill?

For product development and related services we prepare a quote based on the services we are providing, and estimate our time for deliverables. We require a retainer of approx. 60% of our full quote. For specialty production we will provide a quote based on that production. We require half down payment, and half upon substantial completion.
