Design Refinement · Tech Pack · Material Sourcing · Manufacturing Support

The Project
Melaleuca approached Utah Contract Sewing to update and relaunch a tote bag designed to organize and carry its cleaning products. The existing design needed a more modern appearance, improved functionality, and updated documentation for large-scale manufacturing.
Our Approach
After meeting with the Melaleuca team and reviewing the requested changes, UCS refined the tote’s design and developed a detailed, production-ready tech pack. The documentation included product specifications, construction details, materials, and technical drawings to clearly communicate the updated design to the factory.
UCS also sourced new materials, helped identify the right manufacturing partner from its network of overseas factories, and served as the initial liaison between Melaleuca and the selected factory.
Sampling and Production
UCS coordinated several rounds of factory samples, reviewing each version and communicating the necessary revisions before production. This process helped ensure that the final tote met the client’s functional, visual, and manufacturing requirements.
The Result
The completed design was prepared for an initial order of 35,000 units and introduced as part of Melaleuca’s Spring Clean 2026 launch. The result was a refreshed, functional tote supported by clear production documentation and a manufacturing partner equipped to produce it at scale.
